Leadership
South Bend/Mishawaka Class 36

Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka was the first
Leadership program in the State of Indiana and
this year celebrates its 35th anniversary.
Each year, approximately 40
adults who live and/or work in South Bend and
Mishawaka receive training in leadership skills
from Leadership South Bend/Mishawaka, an
initiative of The Chamber. The goal of
Leadership is for the participants to recognize
the leader within and commit to a life of
personal stewardship in the community.

Zoo Boo Dress up and attend Potawatomi Zoo’s annual Halloween celebration, Zoo Boo, on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, from 6 to 9 p.m. Little Zoo Boo (recommended for ages 7 and under) will be held on Sunday, October 25, from noon – 4 p.m. Admission is free for Zoo members, general admission for non-members is $7.50 for adults and $5.50 for children ages 3-14. Haunted train ride tickets are $2 per person. The Potawatomi Zoo will be closed during the day on October 23 and 24 to prepare for Zoo Boo. For more information go to

Rotary International Group Study Exchange From April 10 to May 8, 2010, a small group of young professionals from northern Indiana Rotary District 6540 will exchange with Guanajuato, Mexico, to focus on the performing arts. Rotary is seeking four non-Rotarian young professionals, ages 25 to 40, in the performing arts fields to apply for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Michiana Family YMCA Trivia Night The Michiana Family YMCA will hold Trivia Night on November 21 at the Mishawaka F.O.P. Lodge #91 at 1825 E. 12th Street. Doors open at 6 p.m. Format consists of 10 categories of 10 questions covering a broad variety of topics. Cost is $100 for a team of 10. This is an adult-only event. Participants should provide food for their own table. Beer, wine, cocktails and soft drinks will be available for purchase. Proceeds support the YMCA STRONG KIDS Campaign, offering financial assistance to any person who wishes to participate in YMCA programs, regardless of their ability, faith, race, or physical condition.
