YPN GALLERY OF ARTS

The YPN Community Outreach Team has placed a special focus on ways for YPs to get more connected with arts and culture in Michiana. We call it YPN Gallery of Arts. Check out these upcoming events and discounts!

The South Bend Museum of Art invites YPN members to enjoy the first glimpse of its fall blockbuster exhibition, From Leisure Painters to Icons: Visionary Americans 1860 to Present, this Friday, October 17 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. View such notable artists as Jackson Pollock, Thomas Moran, Willem de Kooning, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. This exclusive preview will incorporate WVPE's Jazz from Lincoln Center and a smashing performance by the Tom Hilliker Trio. Call 574.235.9102 before 5:00 p.m. on October 17 to have your name put on the YPN list for free admission. Names will be checked off at the door. The South Bend Museum of Art is located inside the Century Center in downtown South Bend.

YPN will host a Gallery of Arts event on Friday, November 14 at the DeBartolo Performing Arts Center's presentation of the film, The Sari Soldiers. Filmed over three years during the most historic and pivotal time in Nepal's modern history, The Sari Soldiers is an extraordinary story of six women's courageous efforts to shape Nepal's future in the midst of an escalating civil war against Maoist insurgents, and the king's crackdown on civil liberties. Show time is at 6:30 p.m. and runs for approximately 90 minutes. The film's director, Julie Bridgham, will also be in attendance to answer questions. Tickets are $6 per person and must be purchased in advance with a credit card. A soda/popcorn combo will be available at the show for just $2.00. Following the film, YPs will gather at Legends for food, drinks and conversation. Deadline to RSVP for this event is Wednesday, November 5. Click here to register/learn more.
