NEWS FROM
OUR WORK TEAMS
Civic
Engagement
The Civic Engagement Team is currently researching the
feasibility of a Web site that would allow YPs to post a personal profile in
order to be
matched up with different volunteer opportunities in the community. This project will help
facilitate the Civic Engagement Team’s mission of getting YPs more engaged in
the civic process.
The team is
also working in conjunction with the Events Team on a Candidates’
Forum to be held in October.

Public Relations
(formerly Speakers Circle)
Recently the
Speakers Circle Team re-evaluated their mission and purpose within
YPN. It was decided that the team needed to expand its focus to
take on more of a PR role.
As a result, the team has been renamed to Public Relations. Areas of
responsibility for the team include assisting with the development
of the YPN Wired e-newsletter, working with the Events Team
to determine presenters for YPN events and developing and implementing
a PR campaign to reach out to local companies and their young
professionals.
With this new focus, the team is also seeking new members. If you
have a background in marketing/communications – or if you have a
high interest level in these areas – please contact team leader
Sonya Adams at
adamss@1stsource.com.
The next
meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17.
