FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the tuition amount for 2011-2012?
Tuition for the Adult Leadership program is $1,795 if received by June 10, 2011 or $1,895 if billed after June 10. Tuition for the Youth Program is on a sliding scale, based on the family's ability to provide financial support.  It usually ranges from $100 - $850.  Funds such as the Sharon Scuzzo Memorial Scholarship Fund are also available for small businesses.

Is scholarship assistance available?
Yes. Tuition assistance is available for the Adult Leadership program to nonprofit organizations and small businesses, and to families that demonstrate financial need for the Youth Leadership program.

How long is a typical program day?
Both youth and adult programs commence around 8:00 a.m. and conclude in the mid-afternoon. The youth program concludes around 2:45 p.m. to afford program participants the opportunity to return to their respective schools. The adult program concludes around 4:30 p.m.

Are meals and transportation provided?
Transportation varies, but in most cases is provided. Candidates are responsible for their own transportation to/from the initial gathering location. Once assembled, youth participants are usually bussed to their program destination, while the adults are bussed or car pool if necessary. Lunches are provided by Leadership at the program sites.

Are the program days mandatory?
Program participants are strongly encouraged to attend all program sessions. Candidates who miss more than two program days will not graduate from the Leadership program.  The adult and youth retreat is mandatory.

What time commitments are involved beyond the actual program days?
All Leadership Program participants are encouraged to take advantage of their exposure to community contacts to maximize their awareness and participation in community events.  Participation in assigned task groups is an essential step in this process. Participants can expect to invest a few hours per month beyond their normal program days to become an effective leader and contributor.

How can I apply for the next program?
Simply complete the online application form located on the "Application" page of this Web site, or contact one of the program directors listed throughout the site for more information.
