ADULT LEADERSHIP

Yearbooks:
2007 Class
2008 Class

History:

For nearly three decades, Leadership has educated program participants whose contributions through interactive exercises have helped shape community progress and development throughout St. Joseph County, Indiana.

Curriculum:
The adult Leadership program commences in early September with an orientation. Participants then experience team building exercises while studying various leadership styles during a MANDATORY two-day retreat in September.  The program continues with eight individual program days (one per month) leading up to graduation ceremonies in May.

Throughout the nine month program, participants gain valuable exposure to community leaders, programs and service initiatives, while engaging in interactive assignments, which raise community awareness and action.   This includes involvement in assigned Task Groups, which investigate long term community goals, strategies and planning objectives.

Candidate Selection:
Candidates must have the full support of the business or organization they represent.  Candidates are selected on the basis of demonstrated leadership, commitment to community, civic involvement and leadership capacity.  Approximately 40 candidates are selected from St. Joseph County representing a diverse cross section of the community, including business, education, non-profit agencies and community organizations. Applications for the 08-09 class are due June 5, 2008.

Tuition:
Tuition for the nine-month program is $1,700 which covers orientation, overnight retreat, program day materials, meals, transportation and guest speakers.  Tuition payment is the responsibility of the sponsor or program participant.
