The Chamber of
Commerce of St. Joseph County acts as an advocate for its
members in a number of policy areas. Our advocacy team of
professional staff and volunteers work at the local, state
and federal levels to make issues important to this regional
business community heard by our elected officials.
The Chamber speaks out loudly, clearly
and regularly on behalf of our member businesses. We work to develop a climate where free enterprise
and
entrepreneurship flourish.

The Chamber Political Action Committee (PAC), headed by former Chamber Board Chair and Attorney Bruce Bancroft,
has the capacity to fund candidates’ and issues-oriented campaigns on the local, county and state levels.
The PAC allows The Chamber to not only support candidates and issues but also gives financial power to push critical messages out that impact the future prosperity of our community.
The Chamber has set an education platform to guide its actions to further support educational institutions and workforce development. The first objective of the PAC is to fund the campaigns of candidates running for area school boards based on recommendations offered by The Chamber’s School Board Endorsement Committee. The committee will identify those candidates it thinks best align with the mission and objectives outlined in the education platform.
