Respond to the Google Fiber for Communities RFI
Complete
survey by March 19
Help us
gauge community interest in and need for faster Internet service by responding
to an Interest Survey. Google recently issued a call for cities and towns across
the U.S. to be considered for a planned test of one-gigabit fiber optic
broadband service to between 50,000 and 500,000 homes. Our county is answering
the call, coordinating a regional response through Project Future. Google is
looking for local governments wiling to facilitate installation of a broadband
network with speeds averaging 100 times faster than those commonly available.
Hundreds of communities will be competing for Google’s attention. A portion of
the RFI focuses upon a community’s Internet needs and interests. The survey will
help gauge interest. Deadline to respond to the survey is March 19. Survey
results will be included in the response to Google.

Area Businesses Among Best Places to Work in Indiana
Last week, The
Chamber recognized TCU for being named one of Indiana’s “Best Places to Work,”
according to the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. We regrettably and mistakenly
omitted three other member businesses. They are: Centier Bank, Crowe Horwath and
Krieg DeVault LLP. The recognition is based on the organizations’ strong
workplace environment that values employees.
